Mia & Tia 2 (Pre-School)

At Les Amours de Mia et Tia, we have a 6th group for children aged 4 to 5 years old. This group forms our pre-school class at the daycare. The program offered exposes the children to many subjects, such as languages (English and French), Mathematics, sports, health, and science. We also work on the socio-emotional development of the child through play.

Through our pre-kindergarten class, we pride ourselves on providing a positive and caring environment where children develop self-esteem, independence, and problem-solving skills. By the end of their stay at Les Amours de Mia et Tia 2, the children will have developed and mastered the academic and social skills necessary to enter ‘big school’.

1- Educational approach:

Our program is entirely bilingual and we believe that to develop the language skills for our children we should surround them in French and English environment since they were in a young age.

A big part of our program focuses on reading stories daily, as well as interactive sessions on group reading. We have a well-stocked library which is available for children on their free time.

Our learning tools include manual materials such as blocks, puzzles, books, clay, gardening sets, an abundance of art materials and many other things.

We approach different themes every month with a detailed program for every week and it will be available for the parents to see on the board for each class.

We provide learning exercise books for each children.

All classes have their objectives, a schedule and specific activities and we do many evaluations several times a year, followed by parent-teacher

An agenda for each child is available daily to accumulate the information transmitted to parents.

2- Language development:

Our teachers are bilingual who speak to children in a clear and mature way, which is very important for proper language development. Also, we believe that exposing the young children for the long-term environment in French and English is very beneficial and help them to develop their communication skills.

Another way to develop children’s language skills is to sing songs. At circle time we teach them different songs for children with its gestures and we have our time to dance in groups. By learning songs they’ll learn new words and concepts in a nearly and joyfully way.
